Find a registered adviser who reports no commissions

Every firm here is a currently registered investment adviser that serves individuals and did not report commissions as a form of compensation on its latest Form ADV. We show how each one says it charges — percentage of assets, hourly, or flat fee — straight from its SEC filing.

We don't rate advisers. Nothing here is a ranking or a recommendation. Lists are alphabetical, every fact comes from the firm's own Form ADV filing with the SEC or its state, and every profile links to the official record on IAPD. Sponsored placements are labelled and never change the order.

Where this data comes from

Every listing starts from public records — SEC Investment Adviser Public Disclosure — compilation reports, SEC IAPD firm summaries — not from who paid to be listed. A SEC/state registered badge means we matched the business to an active public record, dated. Read the methodology →

Common questions

What does “fee-only” mean?

A fee-only adviser is paid only by clients — through a percentage of assets, an hourly rate or a flat fee — and not through commissions on products it sells. The CFP Board lets a CFP professional use the term only if neither the professional, the firm nor related parties receive sales-related compensation. Our filter is narrower: the firm reported no commissions on Form ADV. See what fee-only means.

Is fee-based the same as fee-only?

No. “Fee-based” usually describes an adviser who charges fees and can also earn commissions, for example on insurance or annuities. Ask directly how the adviser and any affiliates are paid.

What is the difference between SEC and state registration?

Generally, advisers managing $100 million or more register with the SEC, and smaller advisers register with the securities regulator in their state. Both are regulated investment advisers; you can look up either on IAPD.

What does “Disclosures reported on Form ADV: Yes” mean?

The firm answered yes to at least one disciplinary-history question in Form ADV Item 11, which covers the firm and its advisory affiliates. It can be old or minor, or serious. The details, dates and outcomes are on the firm's IAPD page — read them there.

Do you rank or recommend advisers?

No. Lists are alphabetical and every fact comes from the firm's own regulatory filing. Sponsored placements are labelled, paid, and never affect the order.

Why isn't my firm listed?

We list currently registered advisers that serve individuals, report no commissions in Form ADV Item 5.E and have a street address on file. If your filing has changed, it will appear after our next weekly refresh.
